What are your current thoughts regarding technology and teaching?
After taking this class I now know the importance of the integration of technology in the classroom. As a teacher there is so much more creativity, organization, help, and connection in the use of technology. Not to mention technology is the what the younger generation basically uses for extra curricular activities today. It is important as future teachers we can connect and relate to our students through technology! As a future teacher I can expect to spend many hours learning new software's, putting together SMARTboard presentations, and updating my class website. It is the spirit of the times!
How has your view of technology in education and teaching changed this semester?
My view on technology was never a negative one, however, I don't think I thought it was ever worthy of time. Now, I see how beneficial it is and can be to students! I will use my website as an example. At first it was hard to start cause everything was new, but once I got the hang of it, I was addicted! It became more fun for me because I saw how easy it was for parents and students to use. Not only am I more willing to put more time towards technology, I my knowledge of useful websites has tripled. I am excited to see how I can integrate different websites into my lesson plans. Future technology use in my classroom makes me even more excited to be a teacher!
